Sanya is, sooner or later, the destination of every visitor to Hainan Island. Now tourism is booming developed in Sanya. Sanya lies on a peninsula with beautiful beaches and charming scenery. Sanya's clear waters, expansive beaches and lush mountain forests make it an ideal destination for hikers, divers and sun seekers alike. Such popularity has earned Sanya the title of 'the Hawaii of China,' though for those seeking a quiet and restful seaside break, there is plenty of isolated beaches away from the lively family resorts that dot the coast. The region's premier tourist attractions include Dadonghai, Tianya Haijiao, and the Yalong Gulf. "Beautiful Sanya, Romantic Sanya." Tianya Haijiao is a popular resort in the southern part of Hainan Province. It is located 24 km to the west of Sanya's Municipal Area. Here, you will find numerous rocks in different sizes and shapes, scattered all along the silvery beach. The most famous rocks are the ones marked with the Chinese characters “Tainya Haijiao (end of the earth and corner of the sea) and “Nantian Yizhu” (the huge rock that emerges from the sea).In Chinese literature, the cape is mentioned in many famous poems, such as "I will follow you to Tian-Ya-Hai-Jiao", which means the couple will never be separated. Therefore many newlyweds spend part of their honeymoon visiting the place, just like young Indian couples visiting the Taj Mahal Palace in Agra.
Asian Dragon Bay (Yalong bay)
Yalong Bay is a 7.5-kilometer (4.7- mile) long, crescent-shaped bay that is considered one of Asia's most beautiful scenic spots. The regions all-year average temperature of 25.5c makes this beach an ideal spot for a relaxing break whatever the season. From the beach, it is possible to enjoy a view of rolling hills and heaving deep blue seas. Just a short distance from the beach, the coral reefs here are the environment for a stunning array of tropical fish. The water here is so clear that you can see to a depth of up to 10 metres! There is a special square, the huge Shell Hall of Yalong Bay Square. This square is filled with shops and exhibits of interesting native handicrafts with seashells as the theme. And in the north of Yalong Bay is Butterfly Valley, which consists of five halls exhibiting some of the world’s rarest butterflies.
Sanya is the second largest city o¬n Hainan Island covering an area of 1.919 sq. m with a population of 481,200 and having 19 bays and over 40 islets lying along a 209 kilometers coast line. Sanya boasts the best air quality in China and ranks second in the world, next to Hawaii. Sanya lies within a tropical wet and dry climate, roughly on the same latitude as the island of Hawaii, featuring very warm weather all year around. It features a relatively lengthy wet seasons and a relatively short dry season. Sanya has endless summer with an average temperature of 26°C. It is considered to be the most suitable city for people to live in.
Along with the developing economy of this region, Sanya has become much easier for visitors to reach where domestic and international flights can take you in the shortest time. Presently, international hotel chains have established in Sanya where is becoming a world-known destination, especially following the Miss World beauty pageant in Crowne Plaza, a hotel along Yalong Bay. The resort in Sanya Bay, the Palm Beach Resort and Spa welcomed the first Miss China beauty pageant in modern times. The organizer Julia Morley was decided by Sanya to welcome the international pageant the following years.
Night life is centered in three places, Sanya Bay Beach, Yalong Bay and Dadonghai Beach. One can go to the top of Luhuitou hill for a full view of the festivities and scenery unfolding below.
