Beijing 1 Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird Nest, Water Cube

Day 1.  Visit National Stadium(Bird Nest), National Aquatics Center(Water Cube) and Mutianyu Great Wall
You will be picked up at your hotel. We will drive you to the famous Mutianyu Great Wall. You have a chance to visit a jade carving factory, learning about the stone carving and doing some shopping if you like. A cable car can take you to the highest point to have a wonderful bird-view of the scenery, but you must pay it by yourself. After a traditional Chinese lunch at a local nice restaurant, you will be arranged to experience the magnificent modern architecture:the National Stadium - "Bird Nest" and National Aquatics Center - "Water Cube". Then you shall relax yourself by drinking the famous Chinese tea and enjoying Chinese tea ceremony in a well-know Chinese tea market. At last, we will transfer you to your hotel. Wish you a great day!

Older than BaDaLing Great Wall, 79 km northeast of Beijing, the Mutianyu Great Wall is located in Huairou County, with a total length of 2250 meters and 22 towers to stop enemies. It has the typically biggest scale and highest quality feature of the Great Wall, and also possesses the distinct features. Many parts of Mutianyu are made up of granite. The most interesting thing is that both the inner and outer parapets of the wall are crenellated with merlons - a feature quite rare among sections of the Great Wall. And with the intoxicatingly beautiful surroundings, it is a perfect place for you to savor the beauty of culture and landscape.

Designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize Gainer Jacques Herzog, de Meuron and Chinese Architect Li Xinggang in 2003, National Stadium - "Bird Nest" has become one of the typical modern architecture landmarks in Beijing, successfully holding the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, athletic events, and football final of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, which was praised as incomparable. It is 333 meters long from north to south, 294 meters wide from east to west, looking like a cradle. The 91,000-seat stadium incorporates elements of Chinese art and culture. It is considered to be the world's largest enclosed space as well as the world's largest steel structure with 26km of unwrapped steel used. The special structure and concept will amaze you.

Located on Olympic Green, with the Bird’s Nest Stadium, on Beijing's north-south axis, National Aquatics Center - "Water Cube" is a most dramatically renowned landmark of Beijing with high-tech materials. It was designed by PTW Architects and Ove Arup based on the concept combined with the Chinese and Western culture. The cubic represents the ancient saying “the earth is square”. The morphing of molecular science derives of the natural formation of soap bubbles which can create an airy and misty atmosphere for a personal experience of water leisure. It consists of five swimming pools, including a wave machine and rides and a restaurant, along with seating and facilities for 17,000 spectators, as a n exciting sporting venues for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Looking like a fantastic magic box, it exudes distinct charm in the evening.
