4 Days Xian Exploration Tour
Day 1. Xian Arrival
Meeting you at Xian airport and transfer you to the downtown hotel.
Visiting Bell Tower, Great Mosque and The City Wall with your private English tour guide.
Xian Ancient City Wall
As one of the landmarks of Xian, Ancient City Wall still stretches round the old city today , dividing the city into the inner part and the outer part. Ancient City Wall was originally built during the old Tang dynasty (618 -907) and then enlarged by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang ,thus forming the modern Xian City Wall. After the extension, the wall now stands 12 meters (40 feet) tall, 12-14 meters (40-46 feet) wide at the top and 15-18 meters (50-60 feet) thick at the bottom. You can take part in colourful activities here ,such asXian City Wall Marathon. That is really interesting.
XiAn Bell Tower
Originally built in 1348, XiAn Bell Tower was moved the present site in 1552 and then rebuild and enlarged in the Qing Dynasty. It has been the emblem of Xi'an. Because there used to be a huge iron bell ,used to strike hours,hung in the tower, the tower gained its name.With a wooden structure topped and dark green tiles, it is a grand ancient building with traditional Chinese architectural features.
Day 2. Xian
Visiting Terra Cotta Warriors, Huaqing Hot Spring and Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, and enjoying the Tang Dynasty show in the evening.
Terra Cotta Warriors
As the greatest archaeological findings of the 20th century ,Terra-cotta Warriors has a really long history.In 246 BC, Qin Shi Huang, later the first Emperor of all China, had begun to prepare for his mausoleum which took 11 years to finish in order to defend him in the afterlife. There are over 7,000 pottery soldiers, horses, bronze chariots, and even weapons found in the tomb now.Since a group of farmers uncovered some pottery while digging for a well in Lintong, Xian, Shaanxi Province in 1974, it has captured the attention of archeologists immediately. Many of them came to Xian to study and extend the digs. They had gained some achievements and found some artifacts associated with the Qin Dynasty (211-206 BC). Terra-cotta Warriors was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages and it has made Xi'an a famous city for tourists.
The mausoleum of Emperor Qinshihuang (the first Emperor of Qin) is 35 kilometers from Xi'an City in Shaanxi Province. Emperor Qinshihuang was the first emperor in China's history. He was a great politician, leader who unified the country and started off a 2,000-year-long imperial history in China and exerted a far-reaching influence on the subsequent dynasties. Qinshihuang Mausoleum with a river in front and a mountain behind,offers unique landscape for sightseeing.
Huaqing Hot Springs
Situated at the northern foot of Mt. Lishan in Lintong County, the Huaqing Hot Springs is about 35 kilometers to the east of the city of Xi'an. It is noted for the romantic love story of Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Guifei in the Tang Dynasty .Besides, the wonderful landscapes of it should attract any visitor to visit and bathe in this hot spring.
Day 3. Xian
Visiting History Museum, Wild Goose Pagoda and Xian Tang Paradise.
Big Wild Goose Pagoda
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda has a history of over 1,300 years and is a typical ancient Chinese building. It is located in the southern suburb of Xian City. Because Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India in the pagoda ,it is also a holy place for Buddhists. As a National Key Cultural Relic Preserve, it won the title of an AAAA Tourist Attraction as well.
Shaanxi Provincial Museum
Shanxi Provincial Museum is located in the south suburb of Xian city and the building was designed in China's ancient Tang Dynasty style, grand and elegant. Since it was opened to the public in 1991, its architectural buildings, internal apparatus, and exhibits have made it on the list of first-class museums in China. You can gain a lot of knowledge about old city-Xian from the museum.
Day 4. Xian Departure
Visiting Hanyang Tomb in the morning and Transferring you to the airport in the afternoon.
Hanyang Tomb is located at Zhangjiawan Village, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Xian City, Shaanxi Province. Liu Qi, a notable emperor of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-220AD), and his empress, Empress Wang were both buried here. The tomb was built in 153 AD and occupys an area of 20 square kilometers (4,942 acres). It is a magnificent and abundant cultural relic and the grandeur of the royal family is explicitly shown here.
